Apprentice Jake Noonan has failed to secure a doctor’s clearance to resume riding after a heavy fall three months ago.
Noonan was booked for two rides at Mornington on Wednesday and seven at Sale on Thursday but stewards have not received a medical clearance from RVL’s medical officer Dr Gary Zimmerman.
Noonan’s father and master Tony Noonan said he was mystified that the clearance had not been approved as Jake rode in 11 trials at Cranbourne on Monday.
“The specialist that the doctor referred him to has given him a clearance to ride but the doctor hasn’t,” Noonan said.
Steward Rob Montgomery confirmed that Dr Zimmerman hadn’t given Noonan a medical clearance.
Jake Noonan suffered severe concussion in a race fall at Flemington on May 7.
